This large lunar moth charm is approximately 5 x 3 cm and about 3mm thick. The Rainbow iridescent coating is electroplated onto the metal alloy charm and generous 20" cable chain stainless steel necklace so that it is all matching including also the 9mm cube bail.
The charm is a very close resemblance to the real lunar moth (see photo) and additionally has an attractive moon phase pattern.
Lunar moths are a rare and spectacular sight, being a pale green colour and having a huge wingspan of up to 18 cm (7")! In the adult form they live only a few days as they lack the mouth parts to feed. Nevertheless they are symbolic of a positive spirituality, representing rebirth, fresh beginnings and letting go of the past.
